After successfully winning the FA Cup last weekend, defeating Chelsea 2-1 to secure its 14th FA Cup win. Arsenal is now going back to the drawing board to get the best team this summer.
Former professional footballer Charles Nicholas has called on Mikel Arteta together with his bosses to sell nearly eight (8) players.
The Scottish said he is expecting Emirates to fully dismantle its squad for refurbishing this summer.
Nicholas is best known for his good performance at the Gunners and Celtic where he played at the 1986 FIFA World Cup and won 20 international caps for Scotland.
As the Gunners prepare to improve next season, it needs to invest in recruitment this summer. This will redeem its overall poor results registered last season.
Arsenal Manager is campaigning to signing two players, Chelsea’s Willian Borges and Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona, both Brazilians.
During a presser, Charles said he believes defence is where Gunners needs to work on. William Saliba will be starting the new campaign which is great since he is young, fast but he is still slightly naive when he watched him playing for Saint-Etienne.
“We need two more centre-backs and I do believe we need a right-back. No disrespect but I think Sokratis’ time is up, I know Mustafi is injured so we can’t sell but I think his time is also up,” he said adding that Rob Holding has been unfairly treated because it is not his fault they couldn’t make him better but Kolasinac is fits but not a natural defender.
He said the Gunner’s masterplan has to be two centre-backs, cover in case Kieran Tierney is injured again. He noted that.
Others who could be axed and had been mentioned sensationally by Arsenal fans include Mesut Ozil, Konstaninos Mavropanos, Alexandre Lacazette and Mattéo Guendouzi.
