Kajiado Governor Joseph ole Lenku today appeared before Senate’s Public Accounts Committee to answer to matters raised by the Auditor General’s Report for the 2016/2017 Financial Year.

Governor Lenku’s administration satisfactorily gave answers and documented evidence on all the issues raised during the Committee chaired by Senator Sam Ongeri.

“I appreciate the Senators’ recognition that Kajiado is setting the pace in various areas of development.” Lenku stated on his Facebook post adding that the chairman particularly gave a special mention of the County’s preparedness to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our Covid-19 preparedness is on track. We now have 350 beds for our five Isolation Centres which are being done by our Vocational Training Centres (VTC). Our 20 ICU beds are ready for use with half of these at Kajiado Referral Hospital and the rest at Ngong and Loitokitok Sub County hospitals,” he noted

The Governor urged the residents to continue observing Covid-19 preventive measures issued by the Ministry of Health.
