At least 3 supporters of Kenyan Premier League club Gor Mahia are feared dead following a road accident that took place yesterday at Mlolongo Town in Machakos County along the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.

The supporters were among hundreds of supporters on their way from watching a Gor Mahia- Thika United Match at the Machakos Kenyatta stadium in Machakos Town.

The club confirmed the incident on its official twitter handle @OfficialGMFC.

“Our heartfelt and sincere condolence to family, friend’s relatives and the entire GorMahia family on the loss of 3 fans who were involved in a road accident this afternoon enroute to Machakos Stadium” the statement said.

“I would like to share my condolences and prayers to those fans who lost their lives coming to watch us play. On behalf of everyone at GorMahia FC mat technical team and chairman and executive members we are always with you “a tweet from Gor Mahia Coach Dylan Kerr read.

Eyewitnesses told the Kitengela Biznet the fans were hanging precariously on the bus and on the rooftop when the accident occurred.
