16 worshipers have been arrested by police who raided their church at Noonkopir village on the outskirts of Kitengela Town early today.
The worshipers belonging to God Last Church included 11 males,5 females and 3 children.
Most of the worshipers did not have face masks nor did they observe social distancing as directed by government directives.
Some of the worshipers climbed the perimeter wall to evade the police. One male worshiper managed to escape the police dragnet after breaking into an abrupt sprint.
According to the worshipers they had assembled to pray for one of their own.
However according to neighbors they have been conducting services especially at night.
Isinya police boss Kinyua Mugambi said the worshipers will be charged in a court and seek the courts direction on where to quarantine them.
