Livestock at a market in Kajiado
The decision comes in the wake of a rise in the number of Covid 19 patients in the County, most of whom have been using the Kenya-Tanzania trading belt through the Namanga and Oloitokitok border points.
The decision comes only a day after a high powered team of National Government Officers led by Government Spokesman Col (Rtd) Cyrus Oguna and Ag.Director General of Health Dr Patrick Amoth visited Kajiado County to assess the preventive measures against the Inter-Country transmissions. The team also visited the Namanga Border.
The decision is likely to lead to a spike in the price of Beef which is widely consumed in the county of Kajiado as well as Nairobi region. Furthermore the decision is likely to hit hard the residents of the region since livestock is the main economic mainstay of residents of Kajiado Town especially the native Maasai community that inhabits the region.
