A resident of Mlolongo town has come out complaining about the manner in which police officers are taking advantage of the curfew period to harass and intimidate the residents over flouting of  COVID 19 rules.

One of our reporters in the area tells us that far from enforcing law and order, a team of officers has been cruising around in one of their patrol cars {whose number plate is ironically broken} extorting money from Wananchi in the guise of enforcing Covid-19 regulations.

“These are not law enforcers but hungry goons who roam around squeezing Sh100 to Sh 1,000 bribes from business people, pedestrians without masks or motorists drinking in their cars.”

He says he would be pleasantly surprised if that team of rent has charged a single person for violating Covid-19 regulations at the Station.
