With the curve of Covid-19 infection going sharp high, Kajiado has also been affected with one of the patients dying at Kenyatta University Hospital isolation unit. Naina Sima from Matasia was laid to rest Monday (today) at her home after recovering from the virus and got sick again passing on on Saturday.
Naina had shared the sad story of how the government agencies had demanded her to clear the pending bills of KSh85,000 whereby the Kajiado County Government chipped in and cleared. She said even after the same National Government had promised to secure her house and pay medical bills while in isolation, thugs broke into her house stealing electronics, clothing among other things which made her more frustrated.
The deceased said after recovering, some of her friends distanced themselves from her to the extent that no one was calling o know how she was doing. Here is a post she did on one of her social media account: “When I’m dead please don’t post on my timeline saying you wished heaven had a phone. I have a phone and you don’t even call”.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and Health CS Mutahi Kagwe have called on Kenyans not to stigmatize but embrace survivors of the virus.
